Mica Rene Speer

For a long time, I struggled to figure out what I was truly passionate about.

I have always been drawn to many different things, and I think part of who I am is a curiosity about the world around me. I have never wanted to be limited to just one interest or one way of creating.

When I began studying at GIA, I found myself drawn into the world of gemstones in a way I hadn’t expected. I became fascinated not only by their beauty, but by their stories—the incredible process that happens beneath the earth over millions of years, the rarity of each stone, and the journey that brings a natural treasure into someone’s hands.

There is something extraordinary about taking something that has existed for centuries and transforming it into a piece that can be cherished for generations.

Jewelry became a way for me to combine so many things I love: creativity, design, craftsmanship, history, and the beauty of the natural world.

Mica Rene was created from that appreciation—the belief that beautiful things should be made with intention and that the materials we use deserve to be honored.

Every stone carries a story before it ever becomes a piece of jewelry. I love being part of the process of giving those rare materials a new chapter—creating something meaningful that can be worn, remembered, and passed down.
